Dr. Diane Heaton

Marriage & Family Therapist, Pastor, Chaplain, & Faculty Member

Dr. Diane Heaton is well educated with a BES in counseling psychology from University of Missouri, Columbia, an MS in psychology, emphasis in marriage and family therapy from Fuller Theological Seminary and an MA, in educational counseling and guidance from Pt Loma University all culminating with a Doctorate of Ministry, in pastoral care and counseling, from Claremont Theological Seminary.

Dr. Heaton is  a licensed marriage and family therapist, as well as a licensed local pastor with the United Methodist Church.  Two of Dr. Heaton’s specializations are addiction and spiritual care counseling.  She applies both specialties while working at both The Betty Ford Center, a world renowned and highly respected drug and alcohol rehab in Rancho Mirage, California, as a spiritual care counselor and as an on call spiritual care consultant at Crossroads Centre in Antigua, Sir Eric Clapton’s drug and alcohol rehab.

Dr. Heaton is often called upon to serve as guest lecturer or as an adjust professor at such institutions as Fuller Theological Seminary, University of LaVerne and Pepperdine University, just to mention a few.

Dr. Heaton has studied hypnotherapy with the New York Times bestselling author and acclaimed regression expert, Dr. Brian Weiss, the author of many books including, Many Lives Many Masters.  She has further studied specific arenas of spirituality under the tillage of experts in each dimension such as Dr. Carol Christ, Echo Bodine, Sylvia Browne and the late Rev. Howard Clinebell.

As co-owner of The Healing Shoppe, Dr. Heaton brings her skills as a psychotherapist, hypnotherapist, spiritual care advisor and pastoral counselor.
