It was created for a friend of mine who was hospitalized at the time. I visited him in the hospital daily and did my best to comfort him. He was in a lot of pain both physically and emotionally and I wanted to create a meditation for him that would allow him to get rid of or change the pain he was experiencing, and that would also allow him to continue to make other changes in his life as he saw fit. I left the hospital after visiting him and went to my recording studio, sat down, and recorded the session in one take - which was a first for me. No script. Just me, my headset, and thoughts of my friend lying in a hospital bed. When the voice track was finished, I personally mixed the music and effects tracks and produced the finished product and took it to him the next morning along with a portable CD player and headphones.
In honor of the inspiration for it's creation, I call this A Trance for Fernando. He was released from the hospital a few days later by the way... And I like to think that the CD helped him heal a bit faster than he would have without it.
