Become a Healing Shoppe Practitioner!

The Healing Shoppe,

 for a limited time, is enlisting practitioners and faculty members to become part of our healing family.

RIGHT NOW we are accepting a few people who are any of the following: Reiki Practitioners, Reflexologists, Marriage & Family Therapists, Aromatherapists, Ayurveda Practitioners, Color Therapists, Sound Healers, Acupuncturists, Massage Therapists, Biofeedback Practitioners, Hypnotherapists, Iridologists, Shamanic Healers, Numerologists, Astrologers, Crystal Healers, Handwriting Analysts, Pranic Healers, EFT, Intuitive Readers, Ionic foot bath practitioners, Aura Photographers and more. 

If you are a practitioner of something other than what is listed, let us know and we can talk about it.

Your acceptance as a practitioner/faculty member depends on several factors such as your ability to perform various (more than one) practices, the days you are available, and especially your ability to perform a service that we feel is unique in some way and sets you apart from the crowd. PRICING IS ALSO A BIG CONSIDERATION.  You may offer a wonderful servce, but if we think it is priced too high, no one will pay for it.  Your pricing needs to be flexible for us to consider you.  You must then "audition" with your services before we can decide if your services are a good fit at our shop, and to let us see if your services are unique and as you describe.  You may be asked to provide your services to one or two "screeners" before a decision is made to allow you to become a practitioner through us.  All practitioners at The Healing Shoppe are self employed, and are considered to be renting space from us.  They are also expected to continually market themselves, and build his or her own business through their own efforts of marketing, and by utilizing the tools that The Healing Shoppe provides to our practitioners for that purpose.

It should also be noted that The Healing Shoppe & Learning Center is a provider of many classes that meet the approval of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences for continuing education units for Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs) and Licensed Counseling Social Workers (LCSWs).  Some of our practitioners may also have the opportunity to hold workshops and seminars for this purpose as well as seeing clients.  This is an opportunity we offer, and that is unavailable through other centers.

While you are being considered for inclusion as one of our practitioners, special consideration will be given to practitioners who already have an established client base or good reputation in the community.  You will be asked to provide that type of information along with a photograph of yourself, a biography which includes your qualifications as well as stories of interest about you and your healing philosophy, and a DETAILED description/definition/history of the healing services you offer.  In the description of services, you need to provide facts about your services, the theory on which it based, who could benefit from it and why clients would want to have it.  Your service may be the best thing that has ever been discovered, but if you can't easily and concisely describe it and convince us in a paragraph or two why it is wonderful, then it's probably not a good fit.

You should also include a description of what a client can expect when they are having the service,and what results/outcome they can expect afterward. (Ex: You will be lying full clothed on a massage table with music playing in the background while the practitioner lays her/his hands lightly on your shoulders....   Most people find this service extremely calming and relaxing...  You may experience a release of emotion or tears...  that sort of thing)

To be a practitioner with us, you MUST have whatever certification in your field is appropriate, and have verification of any training that you have received in the field/modality -- such as a diploma or certificate.  If your mode of healing is one that is licensed by the state, you must provide proof of that license to us as well.  You must also be available to be IN THE SHOPPE a minimum of 8 hours per week (preferably more) and you must have phone, internet and email access on a regular basis for our calendar/scheduling program and to set appointments.

We have IMMEDIATE space available for most any alternative medicine healers including but not limited to those listed above, so you must be ready to start with us if you are accepted.  We provide a full professional marketing plan for you that includes business cards, flyers, internet marketing on a wide variety of fronts including email, website presence, social networking, multimedia and more.  We invest in assisting you to become a success and take a percentage of what you earn.  There is a minimum monetary commitment on your part of $150/month, but there are several ways you can get around that.  Let me be very clear about the $150/month commitment.  It is NOT rent or a fee we charge you.  It is your minimum goal of how much you need to bring in to The Shoppe each month as your contribution to the overhead.  There are lots of ways you can do this, and if you are serious about yourself and healing and promoting yourself, it won't cost you anything out of pocket. 

For that minimum, we give you all the professional tools you need: A clean, modern, inviting facility with various treatment areas. An email address. A phone number for clients to call and a staff to answer questions about your services and book appointments for you.  We collect your fees and accept checks and credit cards so you don't have to.  We refer clients to each other when appropriate, and we are located next to three other Alternative Care facilities that is very symbiotic for us all.

In other words, we provide a complete professional turnkey office facility, staff, client base and support staff for you -- you just show up.  AND it doesn't stop there.  We are constantly continuing to market The Healing Shoppe & Learning Center and our individual services, practitioners, workshops and classes.

Additionally, we help you to keep apprised of the legal requirements of being an alternative medicine practitioner in California, and help you create, print, and utilize the appropriate forms and disclosures with your clients.
To provide all of this, we take a percentage of what you make.  If you make a lot, so do we.  If you make nothing, neither do we.  THERE IS A MINIMUM YOU MUST BRING IN EACH MONTH TO STAY A PRACTITIONER.  WE make the assumption that you are serious about being a healing professional, and we expect that your efforts will bring you way over the $150 minimum each month if you follow our suggestions and guidance, and do your own self-promotion.   In addition, as a practitioner at The Healing Shoppe, we require that all your advertising and marketing must have our logo on it and our phone number.  Your clients are our clients, (and ours are yours) and we enter them into our database and market to them. If you should ever leave The Healing Shoppe, we expect to continue to market to those clients and we have no problem with you doing the same. There are other optional marketing opportunities and specials that we are happy to discuss with you as well.

When you become a Healing Shoppe practitioner, we require that you are physically in the store a set 8 hours each week (for example every Tuesday from 11:00am to 7:00pm or whatever would fit your schedule).  The important thing to remember here is that it has to be a SET and REPEATING time each week.  You can be in more hours, but not less.  This is your opportunity to get walk-in business and to promote yourself.
